Sandestin, Baytowne and Miramar Beach

Miramar Beach sits between Destin and 30A, and it holds two very different kinds of stays. Inside the gates of the Sandestin resort are villas, condos and homes spread from the beach to the bay, with Baytowne Wharf in the middle. Outside the gates, Scenic Gulf Drive and Highway 98 are lined with beachfront condo towers and rental houses, plus shopping at Grand Boulevard and the outlets.

Both are easy for a sitter once she knows how to get in, and a few details make all the difference.

Getting your sitter through the Sandestin gate

Sandestin is a gated resort. Before your sitter arrives, add her first name to your guest list or tell the front desk she's coming, and let us know which neighborhood or building you're in. Some villas are a long drive from the entrance, so a quick note like "third building on the left past the tennis courts" saves your sitter a wrong turn in the dark.

If you're staying in a resort hotel, tell the front desk a guest is coming up to your room and give us the room number.

What families do while the sitter's on

Golf. The area has several championship courses, and a morning tee time is a lot more fun without checking a phone every hole.
Spa and pool time. An adults-only afternoon at the spa or a quiet pool.

Beach condos on Scenic Gulf Drive

The beachfront towers on Scenic Gulf Drive are some of the most popular stays in the area. They usually have a front desk or a call box, a guest parking area, and a parking pass system. Tell us your tower and unit number, and leave a pass for your sitter if your building needs one. Keep balcony doors locked after dark and show your sitter how they lock.

If you're in a rental house on one of the side streets off Scenic Gulf Drive, share the house name or number. Many houses are named rather than numbered, and that's what the sitter will look for.
